Student Internship - Spring - Unpaid
The Greater Kansas City Chamber of Commerce is seeking an intern interested in extending their classroom learning to the workplace through work on one of its regional strategies – “Healthy KC.” This is an ideal position for a student in a variety of undergraduate or graduate programs. The work will include focuses on public policy, regional planning, urban redevelopment, and health and wellness. The position will be under the close supervision of Scott Hall, vice president of strategic initiatives, and support his efforts in coordinating committees, sub-committees and reports to be delivered to a variety of supervising bodies. This opportunity offers a front row seat to high level conversations about the future of the Kansas City metro, and the ability to interact with subject matter experts.
Healthy KC is a community-wide effort to promote physical activity, nutrition, and other healthy lifestyle choices to build healthy people, organizations and communities in Greater Kansas City. More can be learned about this program by visiting www.wearehealthykc.com
In addition to work on Healthy KC, this internship may also include some work on other regional strategies being implemented by the KC Chamber.
The ideal intern candidate will have their own transportation, a flexible schedule, and strong written and oral communications skills. They should be organized and diligent in their work and have demonstrated a track record of academic achievement.
It is unpaid, but accommodations will be made to allow the intern to qualify for academic credit.
